The unit works the same way as vag-com and uses the signals from the existing sensors, if your mods thake the actual values beyound the limits of the sensors then it is the limit that will be reported.

There are not many cars that hit the maf limit or any of the others, if few people running very high boost levels may hit the boost limit value but if your running very high boost then you are in dangerous waters anyway.

I'm not sure what the limits are on the mk5 yet.

MCPII did do a slatted vent pod for the MK4 in the US, but don't seem to be pushing it.

Here is the link for the slatted vent for the mk4 ... http://www.mcpii.com/diagnostics.html

No pics though and requires the joystick to be relocated?

Bad news, the test on a GTI TSFI showed that it did not have the k-line so the liquid is not compatible just yet, it seems like its just the diesels and V6s that have it.

The CAN version should be out in 4 or 5 months.

That's a shame, I was toying with the idea of getting one of these from santa.

I wonder if this could eventually work with some smartphone app and bluetooth module to save installing the screen as a fixed item?

I don't have a clue whether you could do this or even if it is possible but it seems like it would be a really cool way of displaying this info?

I would certainly buy it!

they should offer a plug in module which you then output the data to a screen like OEM satnav or an LCD screen

you could do that with some free software and an in-car PC!
