What are the benifits of a ported throttle body??

Hi, could someone explain the benifits of a ported throttle body! and how much would it cost??

You are smoothing off the casting marks, core shut offs and air passage to allow better air flow into the inlet manifold.
cost is mainly time and dremmel type kit if you aint got it
Can be loads if you fcuk the throttle body :grin:

Buy a spare from a scrappy and work on that!

The benefits are not great though!

It does help a little but I expect you would be hard pushed to see any real differences on a Rolling Road.

I did mine because people were raving about it, but made no difference!
TBH I only did it coz I had to replace the throttle body and thought I would do it to the new one. (secondhand)

Only in conjunction with other airflow, porting, cam and exhaust mods.

Would have thought that a cone filter or a panel filter would be better first before those mods!
