do i have to point out the irony here?

What a load of tosh.
Myself i don't go to the other forum sections except the classified the main reasons? Theres so many numpties, think they know it all kids on them that know nothing.  Also there full of modifiers.
That does not meen im not a VW Golf enthusiast it simply meens i don't want to read the rubbish.
I currently own a few golfs, a mk1 GTI campaign(for 20 years+ now), Mk1 S1 1.6 GTI, a mk2 GTI16V, Mk5 GTI and have a mk6 GTI on order. I have been a member of the campaign register/mk1 owners club since near day one and know most things about the GTI and its history so i would class myself as an enthusiast.

I can't help but wonder how much longer I will be staying on this forum :embarassed: When I first joined back in April, everybody was excitedly talking about the Mk 6 GTI, which - at the time - we knew relatively little about. We wondered what it would be like to drive, what the different colours really looked like, or whether it was a good alternative to the Scirocco. Six months on and the general level is slipping, slowly but surely. It is now almost impossible to start a new thread without it generating into the sort of aggressive chaos I can frankly do without :embarassed: :embarassed:

I must admit lots of threads end in a pointless argument which has nothing to do with the orignal thread, just ignore it and take things with a pinch of salt. Most of it is harmless banter which i quite enjoy and if you need to know the answer something you can bet someone on here will know. There are some very helpfull people on here

I often feel the same I'm afraid. But Simonpolly is right, and the real idiots are a noisy minority.
The other mk6 forums are also too quiet. I still think the moderation on here leaves a lot to be desired.

Couldnt agree more, the idots on here are annoying, and the people that moan about them need to grow bigger balls instead of acting like b!tches.

Dont be dishearthen Frogti, this is my first forum and I just ignore comments that is not relevant but meant to provoke.. these individuals just crave attention and frankly are likely to have crap social skills in real life... so why am I still here? Its because there are many who still provide useful comments and assistance...
