I thought I'd better introduce myself having been looking at this site for over two years.
I've had my Golf since May 2007, I bought it from a friend and it was in need of a little TLC, just cosmetic stuff. A good polish sorted the bodywork out, Autoglym bumper gunk got the trim looking like new and 30 minutes in my local scrappy had me finding the switch blanks and minor trim parts I needed as well as taking me back 20 years to when I was getting bits for my Chevette in the same way (and at the same yard). It came with 12 months MOT and it's insured on a classic policy as it is a dry day car only.
I've done quite a bit on the car recently and I'll post a bigger update elsewhere on the forum.
