I rang them about October last year, as I hadn't got a letter, got my plaque through the post early in the year, about 3 months after ringing them.

I received the letter stating I would be receiving a plaque last week.

Wonder if I will receive a second plaque!!

Head office support for most brands is poor.
It's when you have a inconsiderate, lazy, incompetent, untruthful, and rude local dealer that's really worse (I once owned a Fiat).

Well it's about VW honouring the promise they made to their customers. The Edition 30 was allegedly limited to 1500 cars, VW ended up making over 2000. To makeup for their error they promised to all Edition 30 customers a numbered plaque. Now VW is having problems sending simple plaques to their customers.

It's not about the value of the plaques it's about the way VW treats their customers.

even at 1500 it's hardly rare.

You need to get the names of the people you are dealing with, its better if you can say when you complain "betty swollocks from the plaque department told me in a week" than saying" some woman or bloke told me this "
Golfgti build quality is average at best.

I wrote to VW regarding the service history of my recently purchased GTi and within a week they responded and have agreed to do a brake fluid change and the cambelt work FOC.

Quite happy with that
