Mine is Prospero.

My first-ever car was called Miranda ("she who is worthy to be admired"), due to whisking me up the M6/M74 in record time one Christmas ever just after I got her.  Only a 1.1L Fiesta, but a nice little runner.

The second was definitely a boy (an XR2) and became Ferdinand to match.

The third, the Peugeot 306 GTi-6, was Ariel, because he was absolutely magic.

This is my fourth-ever car, and continuing the Tempest theme he has to be Prospero.  Well, he's magic too, but much more grown-up magic.

BTW, gorgeous, isn't he?

Rolfe.

Err... we just refer to ours as 'la Golf', as opposed to 'l'Espace' or 'le Transit', our other 2 vehicles.

I've always found 'the car' sufficient...and despite there being several I could be referring to, people always seem to know what I mean.
The only time that seems to change is when it breaks - then I find 'that piece of sh!t' works for me.

Reducing my Golf count by the week....
..but gaining motorcycles.

I have adopted a similar stratergy and quite simply named it... "my car". Should this not identify it, its second name is used... "that one there you blind barsteward".

Accompanied by an outstretched arm, pointing finger, and look of disgust, I hope?
