One more question im guessing the v5 is quite a way off the v6? Hopefully going to look at a v6 at weekend its got 94k on the clock but full history mots etc so im guessing the mileage is nothing to worry about as i normally try and go for lower mileage if pos but there aint that many 3door v6's around

Slight update went to see a v6 today and what a complete dog of a car lol worst car i have ever been to view in my life and it was from a garage and when i spoke to them yesterday i was told the car was mint and that id take one look and love it

a quick list of faults

Firstly the car was filthy covered in cobwebs
wing mirror was hanging off and been partially stuck on with black insulating tape
Back bumper was cracked on top
small dent on bonnet
Door/boot difficult to open
Both headlights had broken brackets and been bodged with scraps of metal and self tappers
Grill had tiny patch of damage
passenger seat reclining handle broken (found in glove box)
No paper work present to prove its full service history
Some chavvy neon thing fell off onto the drivers footwell
front tyres were basically completely bald so couldnt even test drive even if wanted to
wheels were pretty curbed up
No ariel
Checked the oil and it was near charcoal black and according to trip computer wasnt due service for another 3k miles
When started the clock was 23.51 and we saw car at 14.00out so possibly indicating that they had jumped car before us turning up

Yep afraid so  i just want a 3door black v6 with decent mileage so sure something will come up eventually but not worth taking a risk on that heap from yesterday lol. Gave the 2.0gti a good wash yesterday and has come up lovely just a shame it wasnt a better engine then could of just kept that one

Also could any v6 4mo owners please let me know how much tax you pay a year its for a 2001 so newer tax rules :(

Thanks

Hi bud, ive a v6 4mo, its a 2001 y reg, this is wot it says on the goverment web site " Band K includes cars that have a CO2 figure over 225g/km but were registered before 23 March 2006" this i think means prices are staying at £215 for 12 months tax, some people listen to others but cant be bothered to check it for them selves, hope this helps bud???
