Evening all you MK3 section reading folks.
I have decided to start taking my 8V (AGG Engine code) back to stock in an attempt to de-chav the influences wrought upon it by it's previous owner. The rude exhaust is staying but the 6 x 9's have gone and the K & N 57i is going, which brings me to tonight's topic; the airbox.
I trawled fleabay and bought this for £15. The chap stated he'd bought it for his 16v but that it was wrong, but is it going to be right for me:

The part no's I can see are: air box itself 1H0 129 607 BG and Bosch MAF 0280 202 130 (VAG 0379906301c). Do these even seem right? The MAF I have in there at the moment is Hitachi (I think) and the unit is 'stand alone' and the filter is jubilee clipped onto the front. Do I just remove the K & N and put this on it's place or do I replace everything back to plastic pipe leading to the throttle body? Also the small bore pipes that can be seen in these pics go where? I understand the top one goes into the inlet manifold but being a complete idiot I'm not sure where. I haven't had a chance to actually have a dig round in the engine bay yet as I don't really have anywhere to park up out of the way and fiddle with the greasy bits.
Also, I want to smooth the inside (providing it's right for my engine) and want to know the best parts to smooth/get rid of. Any chance anyone can let me know the best bits to smooth etc from the pics below:

As ever all help and sarcasm appreciated in advance.
Asbo
