I found a Seat dealership in Leeds that I am going to see for mine

Will get them to fix anything that goes wrong in future too if its remap related :nerd:

I think im going to have to take one of those switches where I can put it back to standard. Just for piece of mind if nothing else

Turbo cars all require a remap lol

275bhp is also impressive for JUST a remap, an extra 67 with just a remap??   :undecided:

Im just speculating here, I know nowt about the new 2.0T engine.

what prevents the mk5 from acheiving the same gains with a remap is the fuel pump, the mk6 gti has an improved fuel pump which flows better and hence you see better gains after the remap

upgrade your mk5 to a high pressure fuel pump along with a suitable map (not sure if R-tech support this but both APR and Revo do) and you will see improved gains, especially in the mid range.

ill go for cheap remap although after entry/food/weed/petrol ide be better off just going leeds/lincoln

its best off investing in a decent map from a reputable company - revo/apr etc, after investing £23k+ in a car whats another £500 to make sure you get a good one!

FYI just because R-Tech are cheaper doesnt mean its any worse. I would make sure you get one from someone with a good reputation and get reviews from people with first hand experience of the map. I dont think R-Tech are dealing with the MK6 yet.

very few people are due to it being a Bosch ME19 (something like that) ECU which is rather difficult to crack open by all accounts  :undecided:

Give it a few months and I'm sure R-Tech will be upsetting the big boys again

Their MK4 and MK5 maps are very good indeed

All being well, I should be at Combe on the 10th too so will be interested to see what REVO can offer on the day. I didn't see many mk6s at the Autometrix track day in July so hopefully a few more at Audi Driver Int.? Mini meet time?

i would have a gander over on golfmkv.com as the yanks have had this new TSI engine in their MK5 for over a year now, and will be way ahead in development over UK tuners which is why revo and apr who operate in both countries are releasing their software first.

apr also make a might fine looking intake for the tsi too:  http://www.goapr.com/products/intake_carbonio_20tsi.html

happy modding!

If we tell them 3 or 4 of us are coming to the show, do you think we can get near the 40% discount CC are advertising?

Just keep pestering them.  Ask them to match their offer of this years GTI International, and <cough> remind them <cough> that their pitch at Combe probably wont be costing anywhere near as much as Bruntingthorpe!
