Another option is standard one but wrap a cable tie around the middle makes them a lot tighter.

So would that be a quick fix on my knackered ones?

That didnt work!

So have ordered a pair of Powerflex mounts!

Melted? How?

The cable tie is around the centre of the rubber mount not touching any hot metal!

neighbour of mine did the same and he got half way to work and the exhaust dropped off
(he put them round a broken rubber to get him to work)
would have thought it would still get hot enough to melt??
i dunno, who cares, lol

If you hang an exhaust with them they will melt, around the rubber mount is ok as it is away from the heat as such.

The hanging brackets dont get hot enough to melt the cable ties. If they did they would melt the rubber hangers.

I was suffering the same with mine recently, so I had the exhaust off at the weekend to re-fit the whole exhaust.

I got the uprated rubbers from GSF, then put a big fat cable tie just a bit loosely around the rubber to take up the heavy pull if I'm giving it some. Now my exhaust is blow-free and nice and straight.

I looked at the powerflex bushes (but missed this thread!) and thought they were too pricey!

Its a crap idea! If you squeeze a diamond shape in the middle it only makes it longer!

Last time these rubbers went I did it the other way, cable tie around the rubber. This only causes a solid mount with no give!
