Exhaust Rubber Mounts!

My exhaust is banging again!
This happened before shortly after fitting the SS cat back system (Magnex)
So I know which 2 lumps of rubber it is.
These have lasted about 3 years so not long!
Dont suppose there are any stronger ones out there?

Its the twin mount on the middle box.

I think you can get uprated polybush type hangers. Have a look on a few of the GTI parts sites like Awesome and see what they offer.

Think a SS system is heavier than standard so prob why these mounts dont last!

WooHoo! Found some on Venom!  £4.84 each! Not bad at all  Powerflex ones.

Will have to ring and check they are the right ones but they look right!

Another option is standard one but wrap a cable tie around the middle makes them a lot tighter.

+1 getto why of doing it, I did it with the intention of replacing them but never got round to it. Still works.

I had the same problem and tried these but they stretched just like the others. Mine gets a bit of abuse round the track though.

In the end I used the GSF ones and also put a large cable tie around them. I've had no problems since.

The magnex exhaust is about 7 kgs lighter than the standard exhaust so god knows how long they would last with the heavier standard exhaust. Another good design by VW!
