Whats better ?
« on: 16 September 2009, 20:35 »
Guys,

I need a few products to clean my car but i dont want to spend a fortune, here we go

1) Alloys - need cleaning
2) Seats - front drivers seat has v-shape where my tighs have been
3) body - good polish to get rid of swirl marks
4) Stone chips - what should i do

Finally for all this is there any good detailing company that would clean and sort out my problems for £150 max

what do you think ?

You reckon i get all this from halfords ?

Im thinking as soon as i get paid, go halfords really early, pick up what i need then down to tescos get it washed then spend time detailing it a good couple of hours.

If anyone else is got other products please chime in. what about megs, auto glym etc.

If your going to get tescos to wash it i wouldnt bother at all. I worked in kensington (tesco) with some car wash guys, watched them do ferraris and all sorts....with the same cloths and wash mitts without washing them once and using the 1 bucket method.

Man for 200 i wanna be able to eat my dinner of the bonnet, ok who is it, did you do outside fully, tyres, rims, bodywork, lights, interior, seats, doors, visors, dash and most importantly i need stonechips sorted.

Remember we only got Mrk4 Golf, i would understand if we had ferarries, lambos, porsche etc.

This wasn't a one off...this is for ever (or until the wax/polish runs out / orbit breaks)

Personally I'd rather learn and do it myself, spend once and be able to do it myself - than pay someone else to do it.

I'm actually going to be redoing my bonnet tomorrow morning if the weather holds.

As soon as i get paid and sort out my front and rear arbs, fitting new whiteline adjustable, i will post again, get the products and do it my self, i used to detail my first car and the result was fantastic.

Thanks for yours help, i will be back later.

as has been said.... if you're going off to tesco then don't bother spending any money on product

if not.. then invest in a watering can (for rinsing - you can do a golf with one! carefully!) and a bucket or two and join the club!!

if all else fails then contact me!

(and eating dinner off your bonnet after a detail would make it greasy!)
