Mk5 engine used for Golf R

The new Golf R uses a modified Mk5 engine, not the engine from the Mk6.  Ours must be tougher.
Plus VW have ditched the haldex and put real 4WD on it.

Should be a corker.  (Looks a bit drab though)

The engine story is two days old.
I've locked that topic and started one with the real name "Golf R"

So the Golf R now has a longitudinal engine and transmission, rather than the transverse layout?
