Fitting rev-counter to 1.6 driver?

Has anyone done this, know if it is possible, or at least point me in the right direction?
I'd put it in the dash where the clock is now.
Any help much appreciated,

I think you need to make sure that the connections have the same amount of pins and that the golf/jetta you take the rev counter out of is the same age or newer than your car. (Thats what ive been told) If im wrong let me know cause ive been looking for ages for a rev counter out a golf the same age as mine.

the later drivers (mine's J-reg) had rev counters anyway, so try sourcing one of them
