i believe all the subframes are interchangable as well, the seats that came in my golf were the original golf seats on scirocco subframes. nice and low but still had rubbish bolster support

Really? I thought by 'interchangable' people meant 'mk2 subframe will fit instead' - ie different seat on original mk2 subframe if that makes sense. Or do you mean just for the scirocco ones?

Corrado seats are brilliant - loads of adjustment, especially if you like to be sat low-down... super-comfy!

I don't take a camping-chair on holidays with me anymore - I just slide out the passenger seat and sit it on the grass, far more comfortable!

However Nick, I'm surprised you have them in your track slag, as they're bloody heavy things - I feel guilty enough for having them in my daily, despite the  boot FULL of tools and a sub!

It came with them in already and as I'm doing my trackcar on a budget they've stayed where they are for the moment. They will be replaced with buckets at somepoint though.

How heavy are we talking? I'm not aiming for a super lightweight stripped out track car, but I'd rather not weigh myself down TOO much if I can help it

Ah I see, that's cool then. I work for a waste management company who also deals with scrap metal & occasionally get cars in, took a call from a woman who wanted to "shift an old banger off her drive". I asked her what it was & it was only a bloody rado G60!!!! Needless to say I took an early lunch & shot round to have a look. Got there & it was pretty much stripped to a bare shell already tho

Thought I'd got me an engine plus some seats & brakes, was soooo hacked off all day

Did get a few bits n bobs tho

To answer your original questions,

Porsche 911 rear seats wont fit in the slightest, they are little more than pads that sit in the rear bulkhead/transmission tunnel. Corrado seats can be fitted as nick has helpfully linked to BUT in my opinion because they are narrower they never look right. Corrado front seats are just as crap as mk2 gti seats, OK they are slightly better shaped and sit lower, but very little compares to golf recaro's for factory option awesome-ness. Cost a bit but you'll never go back!

Cheers Joe! By factory recaros do you mean mk2 or later versions? I used to have a mk2 seat ibiza cupra GTi with factory recaros & they were alright but wouldn't rate them much tbh. They were comfy but not much bolster support if you know the ones I mean? Look similar to the mk3 golf ones as that's what the Ibiza was based on. Or am I expecting too much without going down the bucket/race recliner route??

Joe is referring to the Recaros fitted to MKII's. They were an (expensive) option when the cars were new and he's right, they kick ass but they ain't cheap.

prettyy much identical recaros can be found in old escorts for a fraction of the price!
