MkII V's MkIII

I recently purchased a MkIII 16v and i'm convinced that it is not as quick as the MkII 8v that i used to have. Is this likely - due to the weight increase of the III , or is my MkIII off tune.

I find the mk 3 16v very quick top end but not as quick as the mk2 16v off the mark

I seen to remember someone posting all the power to weight ratio's etc of all the mk's adn also the top end and 0-60 speeds, will see if i can find it for ya
