They are far from legal.

I hate the look of them myself.

got to vw. Get decent UK plates made up for £3 each and get yourself a number plate holder for £8 with your dealer logo at the bottom.

Way better looking inho and cheaper! :smiley:

If you want German plates, buy a German registered car. You will be legal then! :wink:

Yea they are illegal!

Although dubmeister offer 'pressed look' plates which are legal, as long as you don't ask them to put the D mark on them  :smiley:

personally i like my dutch style plates !!!

I had german style plates on my mk3 and it failed the MOT and most of the fails where for the plates,wrong lettering style,wrong width,wrong spacing etc etc,i have no idea how yours passed with them on as i got slaughtered for em on the mot,so took em off and went good old Uk boring standard,the german plates just arnt worth the hassle in my experience. :smiley:

Reasty your MOT man must have been a right git as plates are not part of the test as far as I know.

Mr Blue is bang on, I got brand new dealer plates, dealer holders and a dealer taxdisc holder. Looks nice and OE.

Are they? Just I know so many people who's car's go through with wrong spaced plates and german plates and never even get an advisory. I always run standard UK plastic plates so I never have to worry about it. I know they fail them if they are delaminated and hard to read but I thought fonmt and spacing was not tested.
