Paint spots on my car!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have a purple 3 door GTI MKIII. I bought the car quite dirty from the outside and didnt realise that there was spots of white paint all on the drivers side of the car. I have tried clay bar and it didnt help in removing these spots, does anyone know how i can get rid of them?

What Clay bar did you use?

what kind of paint is it?

oil based? water based? household paint? gloss?

have you tried some type of tar remover?

I used Meguiars clay bar with the detailer sparyed on first. the type of paint i'm not sure of, seems as if the previous owner was painting the house or garage and the car was close by, so it could be house paint, gloss maybe.

A friend of mine recently got white paint splatterd all over the side of his car (council road stuff  ) would be interested in knowing how this went

Guy, would a more aggresive clay bar help? There are a few spots on my car also.

as per Guy's post, try a tar and glue remover first.  What polish do you have?  Some targeted polishing in the affected area may help - think small amounts of polish with a medium pressure repeated rather than dollops of product and a heavy hand

Thanks for clarifying, though it leads to the question (total newb that I am) of product recommendations as I currently have no tar/glue remover, and the only polish I currently have is the polish/wax combie that comes with the Mag clay kit which doesn't sounds right for this.

I have a feeling the paint is actually from line painting, and it is splattered all the way along one side of the car :E

This is actually on quite a low value car so close to a right-off, I just thought I would see if I could help out a friend but if it needs a lot of (specific and expensive) product it may be easier just to leave it

i tried meguiars bug and tar remover and it didnt work, do you think a full mop of the car will help?
