Is it just the drivers door or both doors?

Sounds like either the switches on the doors are rusted up or they are stuck in, only one screw i think and they come out easy, just replace them, new ones cost a few quid i think from memory :)

Both doors. Will take the switches out and see what they are like.

I had this problem, it could also be with the interior light itself.  Just get a screwdriver and pop it out.  Found that the contacts wouldnt quite touch.  Just pushed it and hey presto, working light! Tho if you switch it you'll have to do it everytime you want it to come when u open the door
