I think this 'manual flash method' might just be a way of over-riding the light sensor.  They should still illuminate, when it's dark, without having to fiddle with anything!  :undecided:

So when you unlock your car when its dark, do the xennons automatically come on then, before you get in the car?

That is one of best features the mk5 has, along with the coming home lights delay too?

Why would they change that?

My Xenons come on fine when you unlock the car in the dark they just don't stay on when you leave for some reason!

Bumpy bump!

Any updates on this issue?  If a lot of you are still getting these probs, and you are 100% positive the the specific time delay is correctly set - then it looks like there could be a prob with the Convenience Control Module. :undecided:

Strike whilst the iron is still hot, and all that.

I'm sure they changed this from the Mk5 so that you had to manually to tell the car to leave the lights on when you had finished driving. Something to do with folk fed up with the scenario  "Hey guv you've left your lights on". Now they can have the option of having the lights on or not.

OK - maybe you are right - just seems a backwards step if you ask me! :undecided:

Anyway when some clever tw@t tries to tell me I've left my lights on - usually some old geriatric driving some w@nky korean shyte like a Kia Pride, who really should have handed their licence back to the DVLA - I just smugly say to them sommat like "It's a German car - that means it's a clever car - that means they will turn themselves off" !!!!
