Lack of initial power in 2nd ?

After starting up the car there seems to be a real juddery power increase in second , just a dead spot when i try n pull away and then stutters up to full power, its not bad once iv been driving abit but to begin with theres just no go. Anybody got any ideas ?

is it a 1.8 gti 8v? sounds like digilag to me, could be wrong though.

sounds like choke problem is i manual choke or automatic

Ihave gti 8v and its got digilag which seems to be getting worse all the time.Does exactly the same though.

do the basics, service, timing ect. It's a process of ilimination but do the easy stuff first.
