Boot divider - bought one, impressions [now with pix]
« on: 07 September 2009, 09:38 »
They're expensive (about £180 here in France), so I don't want to make a mistake. Question: can you put the standard carpetted hardboard floor on top to cover up the compartments and , if so, do you get a floor that's level with the boot lip?

Can't see the point of one of these to be honest!!! seems like a load of dosh for something that is not entirely worthwhile, but that is my opinion only.  I would rather spend £180 on some new cd's to play on my dynaudio system. lol

Wow £180 thats a lot of dosh. You could make one from wood quite easily.
Even if you had to buy a cheap router to make the compartments interchangeable it would work out a lot cheaper.
Stain it black and it would look ok. That way you would be guaranteed to be able to put the carpeted hardboard floor on top.

Agreed. Also - and at the risk of answering my own question - I don't think the stock floor would fit on top, because the boot narrows as you move up. I did a quick simulation using a couple of plastic crates and the floor is too deep at lip height, so I would also have to make another one of those. Don't know if I can be bothered just to conceal a pair of walking shoes and a cagoule...

I know, they look cheap but are expensive  That's why I wondered if you could cover them up...

You can gat a canvas type divider, which when not in use can be folded up.

at £14.99 a bit cheaper!!!!!

Or you could really splash out and go for the deluxe model at £9.99

Christ, those are awful! They'd go nicely with my fold-up deck chairs and wicker picnic basket, though

In the MK5 there is a net underneath the parcel shelf. This is ideal for holding cr@p like that.
