Like a new car
« on: 06 September 2009, 19:08 »
Normal driving : mainly weekends , have a van for work , do not do a lot of miles at all
and it's nearly all short stop start . Petrol esso 97 , and sometimes and only sometimes tesco 99.
Just filled it up with 99 ron and be away for the weekend 157 mile trip. , a lot of the trip
was a blast down the a50 and m6 . Back home now and the car is so much sharper.
Could it be the petrol or givin the car a good old blast to clear it out .
3 1/2 years old and only done 12000 miles ,only do between 15 to 50 miles a week

The 99 RON will help, but the long run probably helped more.

Giving the car a good blast.  I pootle about doing about 13 miles a day in town but now and again I do a 300 mile trip to visit the old folks and by the middle of that journey the car, like you say, feels like a different car.  So much sharper and responsive.

I noticed the same thing with my old 1.8T.  Deff does them good to stretch their legs now and again.

It's also dsg and the changes feel sharper to . Every now and again
I will take it for a motorway blast . Car was feeling a little dull on the performance , just
thought I was use to it but now , it's put a smile backon my face

It's an "Italian tune Up".... My car seems sluggish on my daily grind into work but give her something to think about and she's a hotpatootie, swift smooth and responsive.

Let the fun begin........Red Gti, full colour coding, DSG, Xenons, Winter pack, Lux pack, Highline, Sat Nav, Sunroof, Leather, Milltek, ABT rear valance, Goodyear F1 Asymmetrics....pescaras :-)

My Scoob was the same. The ecu is a learning one so when you drive like Miss Daisy, the car responds accordingly. Drive like Schuey and the ecu learns too!
