Oil breather hose
« on: 13 September 2004, 19:41 »
Right, on a 1.3 where does the oil breather hose run to? I have one end sussed, the rocker cover  ::) but the other? I hope once i get near, i should see the rest of the hose, as it broke near the top, and fell in somewhere...

Its the great big round thing sat on top of the engine with an air filter in it :)

Get a Haynes manual, or better yet, download one:
http://www.moddin.net/downloads/haynes.zip

It has a couple of chapters missing, but has the important stuff :)

I knew that!!  :-[

Got a manual, just haven't looked in it yet!

I finished of my light at last (you remember?). I didn't use two in the end, i just glued two extra bulb holders in the original holder.... its a bit like daylight now! All thats needed is the delay...

Ah ok, I find the pdf manual is handy for when I don't have me book close, like when I'm helping peeps out on the forums or when I can't be arsed to open the drawer!

Good idea about the light, I had an LED one in mine but it was crap and didn't light up anything, so I've gone back to the original bulb.

Its under 'Fuel and exhaust systems - carburettor models' - 4A.

bottom of the 4th page, the pic on the far right shows the breather hose, section 3 tells you how to remove the airbox :)

Cheers, i was looking under engine! Finally, does it "have" to be rubber, can it be plastic, like the windscreen washer tubing?

I would say it needs to be the right type, cot it will have hot gasses from the engine running thru it and will likely melt washer tubing.

Isn't the breather hose alot bigger than washer tubing anyway?  At least on the 1.6 its like 2cm wide?
