I love GT drivers as they make me feel a million times better about myself :)

Only ever had 1 GT driver try it and with my mods it was a bit embarrassing, I actually slowed down to let him overtake so I could see him, thus making me feel a billion times better about myself lol :)

I'm a GTi driver (remapped and pumpping 250bhp) and i find them, on a whole, no problems. I've had a run in with an R32 driver on a couple of occasions (the same guy) and on a particular road, he never stood a chance, the first time around. I think he thought he had something to prove on the second occasion, but once again, no chance. I used to own a bmw 330d coupe ( remapped to 280 bhp) and that was a totally different story. Everyone and their granny seemed to have something to prove. Pretty shocking how i was treated on the road tbh. I find Audi drivers the biggest dicks towards me on the road; especially A3 toothbrush salesmen in their 2.0tdi's. On a whole though, Audi drivers apart, i think the GTi has, surprisingly, allot of road respect.

Never have a problem with GTI's. The only ones that ever try are usually mapped and i cant be arsed as theres usually nothing in it unless its wet. Most cars just try and get some noise out of me as they pull back once i floor it lol

I drive my missus' black A3 TDi over longer distances and, in general, people presume I will be a total pr*ck, not me out of junctions, slip-roads, etc. Also, rude gestures for nothing are not uncommon.  :undecided:

Agreed. I'm liking the amount of people who quickly get out the way without being asked.

It's also nice to leave a hot hatch on the streets and feel comfortable it'll not get smashed up by the jealous c*nts out there...

The GTD is like a blow up doll. The GTI is like a proper woman. Sure the doll might last longer, and the woman might have higher running costs, but which would you rather have?

I've found it to be the complete opposite. The amount of people who don't know how to drive on motorways or check their mirrors is just silly now.

Mmmm... interesting.

I've noticed the further East or South I go this changes, but I'm not often in the GTi when I'm far away enough to judge.  :undecided:

But I think the 'black' bit may have sommat to do with it.  My RS is silver, and I get no real probs at all.  In fact, the biggest cocks out there seem to be Merc drivers - two tried to kill me and my RS last Sunday, and on my bike, it is always a Merc owner who tries to have me off.

Anyway, I just think black cars tend to look a little more 'agressive'.  I used to have a black Vectra GSI, and everyone wanted to race me, or cut me up, or generally treat me like an utter kunt, yet when I sold it, and got an identical spec Vectra GSI in silver - never had a prob.  My SWMBO also had a black Astra Sport, and the same with that - race you or cut you up, or whatever.  Now she has her silver GTI - no such issues - even from GT drivers! :smug:

The MK5 is VERY understated imo.

Used to get people all the time trying to race me in the MK4 GTI but hardly get any bother in the MK5, only now and again.
