VW Insurance
« on: 03 September 2009, 21:52 »
As part of their marketing campaign, VW are offering a week’s free insurance for customers buying a new car. Obviously this is in the hope that people will take out yearly policies.

Has anyone yet had a quote from their dealers? and if so how does the price compare with what you have been quoted elsewhere?

The 7 day drive away insurance?

The salesman told me when I got my mk5 that it wasn't competitive but it made his life easier as he had the insurance document earlier.

VW insurance quoted me about £2k
Admiral £500.

My fiancee just got a polo last week, VW Insurance about £800
Admiral £150.

We're both mid twenties so maybe they don't like younger drivers, might be reasonable for old foggies...

Cheers loon, seems like a large differential. As an old foggie I'll see what they offer me.

Do you pay an excess if you stay in Torry (Sorry, little Warsaw as it is known now)

Figured it would be pricey, but its still worth it to get a weeks' free cover.

The week's free cover is no strings.  The VW insurance salesman asked me when my regular insurance is due for renewal, and no doubt I'll get the marketing spiel when that comes round, but you certainly don't have to take ont anything with them to get your free week.
