after two weeks of trying i still cant get the b!tch runnin. problem started with a missfire , was goin through the usual check of swappin the coil packs and narrowed it down to cyl 3, or ignition amplifier, lovely. next thing i know the car wont even turn over, the fuel pump relay under the dash keeps freakin out every time i turn ignition on or off sometimes the only way i can stop it is by pullin it out, (relay that is),when you push it back in its fine ,until i try to start again. i,ve changed the battery, and ad a multimeter on the starter, 12v fine, solenoid,12v fine, fuses on top of battery are fine, i,ve even taken the starter off and put jump leads in the back of it, solenoid pops out as normal and the starter turns. the only thing i could think of is the actual ignition switch on the column. now and again the starter will click but not every time, it,ll start of a bump but not off the key, next thing to do................gallon of petrol and a swan vesta.!
oh and when it does start off a bump the relay shuts up. golf 4 1.8turbo agu engine.
