Getting a mk4 golf
« on: 31 August 2009, 15:35 »
hey there,
i'm new to the forum so hi! i'm looking to get a mk4 golf, i need some help choosing which model to get because i couldnt find a model list anywhere and it's always good to get more opinions. I basically want one thats as fast as possible without spending too much, it doesnt need to be immaculate condition coz i want to work on it anyway. Please advise me on which model would be best. Anything up to 4 or 5 grand but really i'd like to spend between 2 and 3. Thanks for any help.

Audi A3's (or even S3's) which are vertically identical, seem to better value at the moment.  ;)

I would go for a Ford Focus or Seat Leon.

If you do get a mk4 get a diesel because the petrols are not that good. And be prepared to have to spend a bit on the suspension to get the handling half decent. The Audi S3 is decent too but expensive.
