if its the right age yeah! if you look at the 2 bolt holes where the bumper bolts go thru, the MK2 type have the holes inline, MK3 type has the holes staggered. hope that makes sence!

the earlier passat mount lined up ok apart from the metal water pipe bolt hole sits lower and behind where its meant bolt to but its nothing i cant live with
