The models - badges
« on: 26 August 2009, 19:05 »
Ok im looking at getting a GT TDi but needing to do quotes and gain some knowlage on which is the best before buying.

A 130 and 150 is out of the question already (wont insure me on them)  beside those which is best to go for?

Could someone also clear up what the different TDi badges mean and which engines they would/could have.

There is no sequence for each engine, it depends on the dealer?

it was £20 extra for me to insure a 150 over a 130

My insurance quotes ive managed to get shoot up on TDIs and esp GT TDIs, sad as it is i may get a focus tdci 1.8, can get an 04-05 one with low milage for simular price to a higher milage S-T reg TDI. Just as echo (better from what i read) abit more reliable (sorry guys ) and insurance much prefer them, after a remapr on them get about 140bhp and just as mch torque as a TDi bt above that tuning on them isnt worth it/pointless.

But its a cheap reliable daily im after and now doing motorway miles for work (few hundred a week) then it makes sense, and when i can afford it a mk1 or mk2 GTI as a 2nd car

Dont worry I dont hate VW/VAG ill still want one
