Gti 16v question
« on: 26 August 2009, 11:39 »
Hi, I'm new to the Golf scene and currently looking for a decent gti either 8v or 16v so be nice

One question I have about the 16v is do they have 16v badges on them? as I've seen them on some of your cars.

There's currently a 16v I have my eye on but it only has gti badges.

Thanks alot, Jack.

Woo hoo time for the Monthly slagging match

16v badge means you are a big Homo
No Badge means you are a real man, lot of valver owners remove the badge to fit in with the Tug boat Elite

Whatever you do dont get Blue tail lights as they are a sign that you are super ghey :lipsrsealed:

PS Welcome me Harty

Hi, welcome to the site I'm sure you will be able to get a 16v badge but it wont make it go any faster.

These threads always turn into which engine is the best, my choice would be the 8v.

Are you sure?

I got better torque and a higher top end when I fitted by valver badges.

Yeah, it should have 16v badges... But they easily come off/get stolen, so best to check under the bonnet...

Ive had both 16v and 8v Mk3's and I prefer the 8V... (Im sure this comment will spark a few reponses!) The 16v has more power and torque especially higher up, but round town and not thrashing it - 8v's rule and are typically more reliable / easier to work on.

Or, go "balls out" and get a VR6!!
