Ordered end of May.
Carbon grey
18 inch Monzas
Convenience pack
Cruise control
Rear parking sensors (locally fit rather than the VW front and rear ones - £200 as opposed to £400 plus)
Arrived in June and took delivery 18th July.

In love ever since!!!

Got fed up waiting for the R20 and in order to beat the price increase decided to place an order before it happens.  Since it's circa 3 months to delivery, decided to wait and take delivery Jan 2010, so fingers crossed.  It's going to be a long four months.

Good choice in my view. There is no reason why VW would launch R20 anytime soon as "standard" GTI sells just great. The only concern I would have is Jan delivery as you could be hit by the VAT increase. Try to get the delivery in Dec if possible or at least the invoice with Dec date.

Thanks, hopefully I’ve covered that one.  Had an interesting chat with the dealer when I finally ordered the car.  Effectively he asked does it matter whether you pay 15% or 17.5% as long as you get the car for the price I was prepared to pay.  So we agreed a price I was happy with, how they do it to meet the price and also ensure it’s registered in 2010 is now up to them.  I also sent them a purchase order with these constraints, which they accepted and they then took my deposit of £500.  Have to wait and see, but I will be hacked off if they let me down.

They are obviously taking the VAT hit.
At the end of the day a car valued at £24k would only be costing the dealer £600 to take the hit.
Any decent one hoping for a sale would just take it on the chin.
I reckon between now and the next few weeks will be the best time to get them to accept.

Got mine (the carbon grey one with Interlagos wheels) 3 weeks ago now, but I've hardly had chance to drive it, what with holidays and all. Only done 250 miles, but so far I'm lovin' it ;)

5 door
Blue Graphite
DSG
ACC
Sun roof
Winter pack
Luxury pack
Flat tyre indicator

Think I should talk to the dealer about mud flaps and door guards.

Ordered 8th July.
Build week 35, so they should be putting it together as we type.

Rolfe.

Can you change the poll to include anyone that has decided not to purchase a Mk6?  Or is that to negative?

won't help me with what i'm trying to find out.. otherwise i'll have 10,000 members from the other sections making the very same vote

if you have a tale of woe, i'd still be interested to read that but make yourself a new post for it :afro:

A mate drove mine yesterday and he's had RS4's and 911's (as well as a MK5 GTI) and he was blown away with the Revo......
