Is it possible to choose the registration they will give you ? Id hate to get one of the following..

VW59 FUD
VW59 COK
VW59 NOB

etc etc

this was what i was worried about.  i was worried about getting BJ59 lol. say to your dealer that you wish to choose your reg from the list he has at the time.  mine was as good to his word and emailed me through about 20 odd choices and i picked what i wanted.  unfortunately, VW59 was not one of them (you can get them from the dvla though, i looked at VW59 then my initials but it was a grand

Hmm, I didn't get a choice with mine. I asked, but dealer said there was a range to choose from. Nvm, I'm sticking a private plate on it anyway.

Mk6 Golf GTI 5dr, DBP, Monza Shadow, Xenons, ACC, RCD510, Park Assist, Camera, Lux pack.... and now bluetooth.... and now DSG!

Maybe you'd like this one then:

UR69 KEV

In all seriousness though, Id hate to have a plate like that, is it possible to choose so that I dont get something like that ?

When the stealer physically has their grubby mitts on your car, and are about to register it, they should fone you up, and give you a choice from their current block listing.

Thanks.

Yeah I just put VW there as an example

I will say to the dealer nearer my build week. Hopefully he will let me choose.

Regarding choosing your number plate, what I think happens is that VW is issued with a list of number plates for all its new cars, depending on where you live.

For example, in my area the range is from SA59 *** to SJ59 ***. (now this list rotates as all of the SJ59's have been used and we are now back at SA59). VW dealerships in the whole of this area have access to a list of pre allocated registrations, you may have a chance to pick what you want from their list, but only when your car has arrived in the country.

If you have a good dealer, and ask them nicely, they may be able to put one aside for you.

Yep we know that bit regarding the area code, I put VW just as an example, I'm more worried about the NOB, TIT, FUD, ARS, COK, CUM letters etc at the end.

What I was meaning was that the last 3 letters are pre allocated to the VW dealers, so there is some choice if you get in first.
