bloody turbo swap...
« on: 23 August 2009, 21:07 »
so far it's taken me 2 days (ok I haven't really put that much effort in on those 2 days) but it's turning into a right royal pain in the arse...

I ended up pulling the turbo out of where the TIP was as there is absolutely bugger all space back there. So far I've got the K03s back in there with all the services connected and the mainfold back on. Just the manifold nuts (joy), turbo bolts, downpipe nuts, the 'hidden' bolt (turbo stabiliser) then all the pipework. Should have it all finished 2moro night provided it isn't raining.

At the end of yesterday I really would have paid someone whatever they wanted to finish for me

yeah I know that's all that's kept me going over the last few days. I had a few manifold nuts that didn't want to budge that nearly made me abandon ship, I needed a mahoosive bar on one of the nuts to get it started lol

shame to take the old turbo off as it's perfect having only done 57k but needs must

i think the oil feed on the turbo is leaking now

Not too bad though, will just have to see how it goes, might have to pull the manifold off again to fix it but at least I won't have to pull the turbo out!

J6BXR K03 is up for sale, £100 ono + postage

I could have done with an extra set of hands for this but I was on my own for the full duration and in the open air

The missus made sure to come out and check I was still alive though.
