How often do you wax your knob?

Leather upholstery takes a fair bit of looking after, but even with the standard cloth trim, I am beginning to get the urge to put some leather cleaner/conditioner on the (leather) steering wheel and shift knob/gaiter.

Is this really necessary to prevent the leather cracking (the wheel in particular must surely suffer from our sweaty hands), or am I just sad? :)

Sad that i have not got my Astra VXR Nurburgring anymore but well happy with my Mk6 GTi, much better car

Use leather cleaner and conditioner, though I only do mine about 4 times a year and it's fine though I only do 6k miles a year...

Well, I never touched the Peugeot's leather seats in coming up 12 years and they're still fine.  If the VW ones are that much work, I'm glad I got the DSG instead!   :smug:

I don't put wax on my knob . . .

Seriously, I've done the GTI once in three years - and the leather is just fine.  The car gets parked outside in all weathers, including bright sunlight - and not had any issues at all.
