Just a thought, but being an R-reg means it's one of the last Mk3's to be made. Is there a possibility they used this colour on the last batch of Mk3's for some stupid reason?

Good point, was monza red a mk4 colour does anybody know.

easiest way to find out http://www.golfgtiforum.co.uk/index.php?topic=127391.0

Ahh thanks shepgti! I think this could be a great explination to this "conundrum"....

Monza even sounds cool - I'm petty happy about my "mongrel" mk3!

I also have a Monza Red MK3 on a R98.
These were not an import and were the last 250 cars off the production line.
I also had the problem of matching my panels as the flash red ones were a bit off.
We are special

I will need to add that monza red lq3a to my web site (I know it dosent have every colour as there were some special colours used within the mk3's life but no where seems to list them...I paste it from dodgy old dealer info )

yeah maybe, need a more sensible daily, moving in with the gf and the commute to scarborough every day is costing too much in fuel plus the roads arnt the best for a low golf! going dirty diesel i think, although might keep the mk3 for weekends etc if i can convince her to get rid of the paxo vtr.

LOL driffield is driffield  :lipsrsealed: my gf's dad lives in selby actually, nearly lost my sump on the speed bump near the luttle hump back bridge there a few months back!
