Well i dont know how long he's been looking and where but i been looking/thinking about a year now coz its a toss up between a buggy or a van for me and prices i just quoted seem to be the norm.

Any modification is a personal thing and just because a guy has put a lot of work into it, it doesnt mean the value is increased.
I would rather buy a mechanically sound and rust free body/chassis and do it the way i want it, than buy some1 elses ideas.

Anything is only worth what some1 is prepared to pay for it. Thats why ebay is so succesful.

If 8k is a yardstick Len then I definitely wasn't robbed and got myself a bargain ?;D Don't have the time, knowledge or expertise to do one up myself so had to get one made earlier in true blue peter stylee and as piggy said it could well have cost me a lot more to do one up so roll on next years shows ?;D

Gibby, dude, I can honestly say, hand on heart, that I've never really been into the whole camper thing, but that looks like one that could change my mind! That looks absolutely awesome, really very smart indeed.

I'm not going to ask what you paid for it, because if you were happy to pay the money then it is worth every single penny. I know I'm only looking at pictures, but it looks like a proper job has been done - people who tend to work in trades like that tend not to make hash-jobs of their projects!

Well done mate, look forward to seeing it in the metal throughout the shows :)

My thoughts exactly S11EPS, I'm happy with it and never thought I'd be into the camper thing either until I started going to shows. If the missus will come to the Newark meet with me I'll bring that down as well as my Golf.  :)

nice buy!

dare i ask how much!?? :-X

i have a mate that just bought a rattyish devon conversion for 750.. was in pretty good nick when i saw it though./

he's ditched the original kitchen and built an entirely new one from MDF.
he's also learned to weld.

they have great plans for it :)

i'm tempted by a bus or another bug (or a ghia.. maybe even a non convertible.. could always buy/do up/sell my way up the ladder..) .. . i want a project vehicle that isnt my daily driver :)

whats insurance like? .. esp if insured for low mileage?

oops.. just put a watch on autotrader for a cheap ghia..

No, don't ask how much  ;)

Insurance wasn't that bad, me and missus on there fully comp, it's been lowered, uprated brakes and 17's on 5,000 miles a year for ?223. The mods to it push it up otherwise it would have been about ?150 or less.  :-\

There were some top ghias at action last weekend some real quality ones, you'd have loved them.   :)

All the old air cooled stuff is getting pricey these days even the rusty sheds are commanding top dollars but if you see something you like then go for it, you only live once  :)
