That was wet?

Further proof that lots of electronic systems X 0 talent = 0

Or was that footage taken from a blindfolded driver session?

could have been worse, a kitted up mk5 in the dry perhaps

Anyone else let out a little yep when it got rear-ended? :(

+1

I was thinking, aw, panel damage repairable, bang! Wrong! Scrappy number please...

Gutted, as they always say it's not yourself you have to worry about, it's other people

Plus if that is wet hell mend them if they ever try driving up my way!

You don't own a Mk2, you support it.

if the guy in the mk2 didnt crap him self and lock up he would have been ok and he would not have been there when the fiesta driver decided to leave the track

i dunno, thats a pretty horrible corner, you come over the top of it pretty blind and if you get the line wrong theres a good chance of ending up in the wall 2bh...

See footage from Jap Fest for further details.

High performance car - Check
4wd - Check
Fancy traction control - Check
Owners club enthusiasts - Check
Wet Quarry = Check
Talent - Erm now were did we leave that?

Poor Golf driver though.

Agreed with tall the above, but you missed out some other crucial points:

Lethal dangerous track = check
Disgracefull trackside marshalling = check
Idiot Evo owners who grossly think their cars are better than they actually are = check

IMVHO, Combe is a horrible circuit!  But it can be tamed!

Sadly, the Golf driver made a fundamental mistake of not 'powering out' of the corner.  But the owner of the Festa needs his testicles removed, for 'injuring' said Golf!

Combe is way too bumpy, and many of the corners don't have adequate run off.

And as that vid showed - Combe seems to operate with an utter disregard for safety!   When the Mk2 had its unfortunate tyre wall to bodywork interface, the red flags should have been thrown immediately.  When ANY of those cars spun on that corner, yellow flags should have been shown - but fcuk all was shown to the drivers who were approaching a blind bend, to be horribly greeted by a stationary car (or cars) broadside blocking the track.  The place should have a serious change in the way they manage their track days.

ETTO though.
