speed bumps and lowering your car

How do you guys who lower your mk4's cope with speed bumps? Mine isnt lowered and I have the cover over the oil sump scuffing them sometimes.
1999 mk4 1.8 n/a AGN Silver Grey
***Looking for one 16 inch wheel, Montreal 2*** and a rear parcel shelf (without speaker holes!)
