Just checking the 2.0 TSI engine does not feature a supercharger, a la 1.4 TSI turbocharged and supercharged does it?

when i first took it on a test drive the stealer pointed out the sound of the supercharger on lowish revs, but it doesn't have one does it?

Cancel your order and take your money elsewhere - don't get it serviced by these numb nuts either!
When I first test drove the Scirroco when it 1st came out, the salesman also told me the S on the TSI mean supercharge.
I wonder how someone can sell a product when one know nothing about what they are selling.
After talking to a few VW sales team from different dealership, Im really surprise how poor their product knowledge is. They are really below par when compare with Audi, BMW or even Skoda!

I do wonder how these people gets jobs at VW sometimes.

Just like the twit at my local, who was adamant the R32 had - and I quote "full time four wheel drive, with at least 60% going to the rear, and upto 100% going to the rear".  I politely told him only the RS4 and RS6 do that.  But no, the dick-head was adamant he was correct, so I asked him to get on his hands & knees and show me where the Torsen centre diff was, he replied it didn't need one.  In the end, I had to complain to the DP, and told them I would be informing Trading Standards for misrepresentation.  A P45 was duly issued!

I dont know much about the new Golf range, only know someone at work with a 1.4TSI and he told me it has a super charger and a turbo, I I assumed that's what the TS bit meant. So I can see how people get confused if the 2.0 is called a TSI as well. But obviously a dealer should know better.

What does TSI stand for btw?

Jeeeez

- for the record:
  • T - can mean supercharger, or turbocharger, or both - but in the Mk6 GTI, just means Turbo
  • S - only means 'Stratified' - a lean burn mode of combustion which utilises direct injection
  • I - just like all Volkswagen Group cars, simply stands for 'injection'

So - TSI simply means: Turbocharged Stratified Injection.  Simples!

Sadly, most stealers, not just VW are like this.  Ford and Vauxhall are generally as equally ignorant.

I won a 1.1 Rover 25 a good few years back and the dealer owner went out with me for a drive in it and I asked him if the 1.1 was 16v and he said no it's 8v. I looked under the bonnet when i got it home and it clearly said 1.1 16v on the engine cover...

I confess I did feel really good when he got the boot.  I repeatedly told him I owned both an RS4 and a GTI, and did NOT want to purchase an R32 - which he was pushing with more viggor than a drug dealer with a bag of smack at some school gates!

Thankfully, the chap who replaced him is much better, much more mature, and upfront about his lack of indepth tecchy knowledge!

But I still haven't managed to get rid of the utterly incompetent bodyshop manager . . . but I keep on nibbling away - he will fail!
