sorry to steal this thread! but just wandering why there are 2 types of airbox for the 1.4's. and if the kits are interchangeable.. i have an oval one but all the kits i can find are square only?

The oval airbox that sits on top of the throttle body is the multi point injection AEX engine.
The square airbox that sits in the drivers side front corner of the engine bay is the single point injection ABD engine.

K&N do panel filters for both. Or you can buy a cone shaped induction filter and some piping to fit the induction kit to your throttle body.

Yes I have K&N 57i on my valver, simple job. I would have though it was easier that fitting one to an 8v as there is no MAF to worry about.

Pipercross Panel Filter, in a smooth and drilled Air Box with the snortle removed and Cold Air Feed Duct run directly from the Air Box to the Front bumper.

Sounds the Biz, with my Powerflow Cat Back System
