No I read somewhere that they were going to use the old ED30 engine as it was more tunable for higher power outputs.

may aswel buy an ED30 IMO, cheaper, same engine and just uprate the suspension through roll bars, LSD and the like.

Cant see the R20 looking good... each to there own though

Those wheels are just cover up / spy shots, the R20 wont have the GTI wheels.

+1. At least offer us a wider choice, like you do with 'normal' Golfs.

I just had a call from VW France with one of those post-purchase satisfaction surveys. I basically gave everything 10/10, but when she asked if I had any suggestions for improvement, I said "yes, the stock wheels are awful".

I still hope the end product looks something like this...

Looking at the pics, it's going to have the same front bumper shape, grilles and LED DRL's as the Scirocco R, and the same rear diffuser with red reflectors in the corners, but with the exhausts in the centre. Expect it'll have the same wheels too:


It would be great for it to have the 2.5 out of the TT-RS but VW are a conservative bunch, so I bet it gets the 270bhp 2.0T out of the TTS.
