appreciate the help, so on a normal mk5 its just on the drivers side the physical keyhole normally?

Correct.

Just wondering if i was walking past the car, would i physically see the key hole? or do you have to open the handle for it to come out?

Cheers

The drivers side door handle with a keyhole is physically different to all the others.  The keyhole is actually in the 'fixed' part of the door handle, and is clearly visible without lifting anything.  I've gotta log off now, but hopefully someone else will post a pic of the door handle, or try Google images.

Yeah appreciate the help thanks for that.

I am left with option of either trying to open up the front bonnet now or try and break into the car.

I cant see the AA doing much coz there useluss lol

I just found out the problem for 100 percent sure, there is no actual physical key lock on the car, i think the car was previously attempted to be stolen and key lock was broken into and wasnt ever replaced due to the obvious cost.

So this now is a problem, i only got couple of options.

I need to try and get access to the battery so i can get the immboaliser to work, whats the best way to do this?

I can either get into the car some how nt sure how, possible window to be smashed or just try to open the bonnet some how but not sure how i can do that as car cant be move :(

So, your keyfob won't allow you access to the car and there is no where to put in your key on the drivers door?

Take it that the battery on the key fob isn't goosed? Have you tried the second key or a replacement battery (for the key)?

It is worth calling RAC/AA if you are a member.

They do have 'special' tools and techniques for getting into the car.

Yeah i tried the replacement for the battery no luck either, it still flashes red light when pressing it but the red alarm which was flashing in the car before when its locked, no longer flashes :(

I tried to open the grill but its very difficult without the bonnet being open as it seems to have the screws there, i managed to get one out but the other one is not coming out.

I think the only option at the moment is to smash the window

I would call autoglass or your local glass repair place and ask them how much it is for replacement glass for the front windows, rear windows, and back screen..... at least that way you can smash the cheapest glass to replace :nerd:

p.s. You might want to check stock availibility also.. no point in breaking the cheapest one to find its out of stock for 6 months

maybe a silly suggestion, but the cap next to the handle where the lock would be could be just a cap, coving the lock for the astetic reasons, try taking the cap off to see if there is a key barrel underneath

But the thing is now my doors dont open from the outside when i use the key control. Any ideas whats going on here? do you think its de locked from the outside now? but the doors when your in the car open from the inside just not from the outside?

cheers all appreciate all the help, hopefully can get to the bottom of it
