If its the alloy thats polished then you need to strip the paint right off, then make sure the alloy is blemish free then using sand paper rub them back using a finer grade each time until its really smooth. Then metal polish.

not easy.

by the time you have bought everything you need (which still wont really be up to the job!)
and then spent hour after hour sanding them it will have cost you more in time and effort than just sending them to a polisher!,

Sorry to re start old thread but im having bt of a dillema with mine.
Mine r like a chrome effect with painted black inners but the laquer on the chrome bit is cracking from underneath
Can i get away with cutting back the laquer,you cant feel the cracks but they r white.
