what sort of driving does she do?

could be a MAF problem - they tend to give poor MPG problems

Very cautious i'd describe it as Rhyso doesnt drive quickly at all.

Surely she should get like 50mpg

She has only just brought it last friday is this something the Garage should have spotted?

thanks for reply mate

what type of trips does she do? long or short. if their mostly short trips around town I would have thought that is about right.
If not could be the MAF or Water temperature sender

Diesels are only good on fuel when driven conservatively. Otherwise they will drink like a petrol if you drive like you stole it!

Mine (not a golf) can return 40+ when driving carefully. I only manage 18 though and 12 on track!

sounds much more like it, but still a little on the low side.  I reckon mine (when it's working) can get to high 50s possibly even 60 at that speed.  I forget, does the 115 have a 6 speed box?
