lol whatever it is, the car will not start at all. my mechanic says he hasn't come across anything like this before. mechanical wise its completely sound and should start as it should but there is something holding it back :sad:

in most cases it doesnt.

Dont forget its the ECU thats giving out the fault codes, so if the ECU is shagged then its not necersarily going to give you the right data in the diagnostics

Couldn't tell you for sure.
I've had one case of a shagged ecu on a vr6, and it did show up on VAG-com.

if i change the ecu for another s/h one could i get it programmed to my car or do i need to change the ignition barrel and all the locks??

You can re-program the keys with VAG-com.

I would try the ecu and fuel injection relays first! They only cost about 12 quid each and dont show up on diagnostics!

im guessing these will be sold at gsf or kms? if so ill have a look tomorrow

all relays were checked and are fine. i've managed to find an ecu. do i need anything else to connect it up to my car? where can i take it to get it programmed?
