I even showed my dealer one of the pics to show off the wheels, who was very impressed.  Top marks, Mr FroGTI.

Lol, that's nice  My salesman was also very impressed when he saw the finished result. It was a gamble of course, because there was no way I could know exactly what the Interlagos would look like on the car until I had bought them and had them fitted. On delivery day we had a little cold beer party (it was 32 degrees) with the mechanics, salesmen and even the MD of the dealership. Great fun

Wow I can't imagine that happening here... neither the cold beer party nor the 32 degrees!

Lol, yes I shudder to think what British health & safety would have had to say about a beer party during working hours  I provided the beer to thank them really for their efforts: they had given me an 11% discount on the GTI and changed the wheels over free of charge, for example, despite the fact that I had bought them privately in Germany.

I've always liked the Interlagos wheels ever since they first appeared on the Passat CC. I wanted to spec' them on my 2009 Eos, but my dealer said I couldn't (which is why I bought a set privately for the GTI). Also, I think they look a bit like the wheels on the Mercedes SLR

I agree!! IMHO, the rims on the Merc does not match the car's styling...

Well, I agree actually, but I didn't want to come across as being too obsessed by my wheels  Just to prove it, here's a shot without them in for once, lol.
