Yeah but mines been curbed.  9 days old and scuffed already, it was that white van man what done it gov.  Am I sick or what, you'd need to look really close to see it but I know it's there and that is what hurts

you reckon the 17s wouldn't have been scuffed?

No doubt they would have.  The thing is with the bridgestones on they kind of have a bit that sticks out all round the tyre, probly to protect the alloy, well it didn't work too well!!!  Everyone just look out for those darn curbs, they have a habit of leaping out at you when you least expect it lol

I'd intended to get the leather before I even saw the car, but I wasn't that thrilled by the appearance when I did see it.  Then I saw pictures of the cloth, and realised it was rather nice.  Then I heard people here say it was rather nice.  Then the second dealer I went to had cloth on his showroom car, and it was rather nice.  And that dealer was a real fan and actively argued against the leather.

So I spent the money on the DSG instead.

Rolfe.

Excellent reasoning there, my old Scottish friend :)

FroGTI - do you find the cloth "scratchy " at all?

Can't say I do. My bottom is quite a delicate fellow - hence the heated seat option - but even in summer shorts & t-shirt, the cloth is perfectly comfortable. More comfortable than the 'sticky' leather I had in my Eos, for example.

I like those alloys, I just don't think they are suited to the GTI. Maybe its just me.

You're probably not the only one to think that, but I really like them. I wanted to tone down the look of the standard car very slightly, hence the 'boring grey' colour and 'executive' style wheels. I saw a standard GTI (reflex silver + 18" Monzas) at a dealership in Hull a couple of weeks ago and I really didn't like the wheels at all. I am more Aston Martin Vantage than Ford Focus RS, if you get my drift :)

My lovely new GTI has been PhotoShopped by, I have to say, a very skillful member of the French GTI forum I also frequent. The wheels are not really to my taste, but whatever floats your boat, I guess. Note how he has even 'closed' the driver's (LHD!) window. Impressive skills indeed.

- Iroc prototype 18" wheels
- darkened privacy glass
- LED rear lights from the Wörthersee concept GTI (please bring these out as an accessory, VW)
- debadged
- modified exhaust pipes (which I actually quite like!)

Nice job!  Though for me I'm not keen on those wheels. I'm not a fan of the darkened alloys since they remind me of wheels that have lost a hub cap!

Also I fail to see the attraction of the led rear lights. Lit up they just look too after market.
