Driving a car without an MOT.....
« on: 03 September 2004, 08:13 »
....I seem to remember hearing/reading somewhere that you could drive a car without an MOT/Tax, providing you were on your way to an MOT testing station, with a pre-booked appointment, without getting your collar felt. Anyone else heard of this? Or, if I do it, am I gonna get fisted by the boys in blue?

The car will be insured (although effectively its made redundant by the fact that to comply with insurance your car should be taxed and MOT'd)

This is true.

If your car has been off road and not taxed etc. and ya wanna put it back on road then u have to get an MOT before u can tax it.

So yes u can drive it to a garage for repair and for an MOT.

I've inhereted a car that has been over in Spain for the last couple of years, so it isn't MOT's or Taxed. Its getting shipped back to UK in the next couple of weeks, gotta get it from Wickford in Essex back to mine.

Its still UK registered, was never officially exported, so I don't know how they'll know. I think I should be ok, may phone cops/VDLA and ask them
