Fun thread, I'll add some North American names to that list:

1969 VW Bus Type2 (shared with my Grandpa, learned how to drive on it!)
1974 320i (hand-down from my parents, poor thing fell apart 3 months later - maybe I drove it too hard...)
1984 Plymouth Reliant (high school beater)
1992 Escort
1994 Escort GT (took it for my first track day)
1996 Mercury Mystique (pretended I was in Europe in a Mondeo!)
1998 Mk3 Jetta
2002 Mazda Protege5
2006 Mk5 Jetta 2.0T DSG
2010 Mk6 GTI - on order!

40% VW!

Mini Metro - 3 new engines
Nova 1.2
Astra GTE
Golf Mk2 16v
Calibra SE9 V6 - engine and gearbox rebuild, condemned twice
Golf Mk4 Gti - stolen and found 3 months later in Luton full of Class A drugs
Celica 140bhp - truly fantastic
Golf Mk2 16v - weekend car, sold to a mate
Clio 182 - totally bonkers, had to sell after 6 months as I was going to kill myself
Porsche Boxster 2.5 - selling that was liking cutting my right arm off
Golf Mk5 140bhp TDI 4 motion - current ( will sell when Mk6 Gti arrives )
Mercedes ML420 - current
Golf Mk6 GTi - end October

Some horrors and some good memories

Mk6 GTi - returned to leasing company after 3 great years and replaced with :

Mk5 GTi - Edition 30 - Revo 1 and some tweaks - 310 bhp. Its a better car than the Mk6  - Now sold and replaced with :

Mk6 R - Rising Blue 5 Door. Won't be standard 270bhp for long

Family Car : Mercedes ML420 with 360 bhp
Looking at Porsche Macan as replacement
